This front garden was in desperate need of an island of vegetation to distract from the tarmac. The curved-shaped bed had to create a soft separation between the road and the house. My clients liked the idea of a gravel garden and had saved weathered rocks from their previous garden, which would sit perfectly within the plants. The planting design involved adding conifers for structure, grasses for movement and a range of bulbs and perennials for colour and texture. The result is a lively mix of plants, with year-round character.
